Hacking Photography - one Picture at a time

RGBLAC seems to be the new trend these days when it comes to LED lights. Gone is the more usual straight RGB and even the slightly more fancy RGBWW, which mixes RGB with warm and cool white LEDs. RGBLAC combines red, green and blue with lime, amber and cyan to produce even more accurate colours. We saw it recently in the massive Prolycht Orion 675FS and now it’s come to lower powered 60 Watt LEDs, courtesy of Nanlite.
The Nanlite Forza 60C is an RGBLAC LED light with a super wide colour temperature range of 1800K all the way up to 20000K and CRI and TLCI scores of 96 and 95 respectively. Nanlite says the newly developed that it offers a “near daylight spectrum” of colour that simply isn’t possible with RGBWW LED lights.
The Forza 60C uses a newly developed hardware and software platform that Nanlite says was built specifically for working with RGBLAC lights. So, you get all of the usual professional lighting options such as HSI, RGBW and XY modes for colour calibration. You’ve got onboard controls to cover the general functions and then fine tuning can be done via the app and DMX/RDM controls.
It utilises the FM mount, which has a range of light shaping tools available, but you can also use it with all of your usual Bowens mount modifiers using the included Bowens mount adapter. It has an L-shaped yoke, allowing easy connection to a battery grip when you need your light to be more portable, taking power from a standard V-Mount battery. When it’s in a more permanent spot, it takes regular 110v/240v AC through the power brick.
Inside the box, you’ll get the Forza 60C light itself, a 15V 6A power brick, a 3-metre power cable, FM mount 45° reflector, a protective cap, Bowens mount adapter and Battery Grip, all inside a purpose built carrying bag to keep it all together and protected.
