A light bulb that emits natural light—similar to atmospheric daylight flowing through a window—is easy for the eyes and flattering for almost all objects. They are also very convenient for artists, helping to create a well-lit work area where colors can be accurately perceived and details can be clearly illuminated. More importantly, a studio with plenty of natural light can help reduce eye strain. Use one of our preferred daylight bulbs to make your studio a calm and efficient environment.

As the best general-purpose bulbs, these 60-watt equivalent LED bulbs emit calm white light, making almost everything appear natural. We like that they are dimmable, able to be turned down almost completely without any lag, or people usually hear annoying buzzing when using poor quality bulbs. Castings with a frosted finish are also uniform and full, because unlike some LEDs, there is no plastic covering around the base.

If you don't have a dimmer, we recommend Great Eagle LED bulbs, which are as accurate as Sylvania's in terms of color. These 60-watt equivalent bulbs emit a crisp white light that delightfully enhances any space. Each has a plastic base above the metal feet, so the casting is not completely round, but it is still satisfactorily bright.

If you have halogen lamps, consider replacing them with these LED bulbs. The GU10 base is compatible with halogen lamp holders, but the bulb is more environmentally friendly and produces the same amount of light, while consuming less energy and dissipating less heat. Their transparent glass cover and wide-angle shape make them particularly suitable for areas illuminated by light or for track lighting fixtures.

The energy efficiency of incandescent bulbs is lower than that of LEDs. However, if you are not ready for the conversion, choose these environmentally friendly incandescent bulbs from Philips. Each produces the same brightness as a 100-watt bulb, but consumes only 72 watts. Unlike traditional incandescent lamps that emit warm colors, these halogen lamps emit neutral light. Although more expensive than the other bulbs on our list, this is a good choice if you are looking for an alternative to incandescent bulbs.

Lamps modeled on traditional Edison bulbs are a stylish and simple way to add personality to your personal space, but they are usually not super dazzling and tend to emit an ancient amber light. This LED version provides a satisfactory 700 lumens output with zero color cast. On the contrary, the light is fresh and modern. They have dimmable and non-dimmable options.
